When you start the app there are two steps: connecting your WiiMote(s) and setting the Android to use it as a keyboard. I went through the steps in the video, but let's go through those steps again. Once you do that there are only a few steps before you'll be up and running.

using a WiiMote and my Asus Transformer Pad Infinity, if you're interested:īefore you do anything, make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your Android device. That includes a bunch of games and most major emulators. It's perfect for use with NESoid and other emulators.Ĭurious how well this works? There's no lag, I can tell you that right now, and the WiiMote is a perfect controller for any Android app capable of detecting keystrokes. This app doesn't detect the WiiMote's motion capture – instead, it lets you use your WiiMote as a traditional gamepad, held sideways. It's easy to set up, and mimics an Android keyboard – so it works with most games.

I've shown you how to use a WiiMote as a gamepad for your Mac and Christian showed you how to connect a WiiMote to your PC, but if you prefer to do your gaming on an Android device I highly recommend the free app WiiMote Controller. Touch screens are great for some games, but for others you just need tactile response. Use your WiiMote as a gamepad for your Android tablet or phone. You can also still connect an Xbox or PlayStation controller to your Android device.

The app mentioned in this article no longer exists, but if you are using a new Nintendo Switch, you can connect your Joy-Con or your Nintendo Switch Pro controller with Android. ( *** if the app displays an error message after you tap the first button then your device might not be supported. Please Note: Unfortunately, there is no longer a solution to use your WiiMote as a controller for your Android. Wait for the Connected message to appear * **. Tap the first button and at the same time put your Wii remote in discovery mode by pressing 1 and 2 simultaneously. This is only needed once right after installation Please don't ask if and when these devices are going to be supported. So far it seems there is no solution for these devices other than rooting/flashing a compatible custom firmware.

The same (though not because of the Sense, obviously) seems to be true with newer Samsung devices (like Moment, the entire Galaxy S series, Acclaim etc). Wait a few seconds and the Wiimote should be connected. To pair up your Wiimote simply press the buttons 1 and 2 on your Wiimote and then click on 'Pair Up Real Wiimotes'. It doesn't matter if the Sense is turned on or not, the problem seems to be much deeper. In the 'Wiimote' menu you will see a button called 'Pair Up Real Wiimotes'. IMPORTANT! This application does not work with most HTC Devices that have Sense UI. You can then use the Wii remote to control various apps. WiimoteController is an application which allows a Wii remote to connect to your Android phone.
